Politics. "You are allies of cancer": who is Fleur Breteau, the woman who challenged the deputies?

Suffering from double cancer, the founder of the Cancer Colère collective attacked parliamentarians during the vote on the Duplomb law in the National Assembly.
"Look at me! Look at me!" It's July 8th, a cry comes from the guest gallery of the National Assembly, just as the deputies have finally adopted the Duplomb law. And we see, standing in the gallery, a woman with a shaved head shouting to the deputies: "You are allies of cancer, and we'll make it known!"
This coup, widely shared on social media, is undoubtedly decisive in the petition's success. Its author is Fleur Breteau, 50 years old. Four years ago, this former communications specialist, stylist, sex toy saleswoman, and novelist ( L'amour, accessoires , published by Gallimard) learned that she had breast cancer. And last August, she was diagnosed with cancer in the other breast, which was more aggressive.

Fleur Breteau was in the middle of a chemotherapy session at the Gustave-Roussy Institute in Paris on January 27 when she heard that the Senate had just adopted Senator Laurent Duplomb 's law. "I took out my notebook, I started to write and draw. Cancer Anger came immediately. I couldn't stand my helplessness any longer. I had to do something with my rage," recalls in Libération the woman who had campaigned against pesticides for years within Greenpeace.
Cancer Anger aims to bring together "(former and future) patients" in order to "politicize cancer." It explains in Libération : "Cancer is an epidemic whose causes, notably the reckless use of pesticides and social inequalities, are structural and political. The problem is that we don't talk about it."
The incredible success of the petition shows that Fleur Breteau has at least won this battle.
